Artist statement: Ringed seals are a central component of the Arctic ecosystem. Seals are endangered by factors including hunting and illegal killing, entanglement in fishing gear and marine debris, habitat loss and degradation, food limitation due to overfishing, and climate change impacting sea ice and food sources.
