Hello.
After a long career in theater, in 2015, I started applying the skills I learned as a theater costume designer and craft artisan to the development of art quilts. Storytelling, character, and theme development guide my work which generally focuses on connecting to animal-human interactions and socio-political issues. Connection and expression are the base I try to work from and because drawing, painting, and quilting give me joy… I like to develop both dark and lighthearted themes in my work. I find that art quilting adds texture to my drawing and painting and an additional layer of meaning to my imagery.
