Techniques: raw edge appliqué, hand embroidery, hand drawn and painted

Artist Statement: Part of my endangered species series this cheetah couple have an uncertain future. Vanishing species are veterans in the war against encroachment on and political upheavals in their territories, hunting for their body parts, and the battle against changing climates. This inspired me to use war surplus fabric, a damaged tarp, cheesecloth and hand embroidery to express both the toughness of their battle and their fragility.
