Artist statement: The price of beauty weighs heavily on leopards since it attracts illegal wildlife trade, and trophy hunting. The most vulnerable are Asian subspecies who are plagued by poaching for their beautiful fur and bones used in Asian medicine. Leopards like to spend time in trees and need large areas of connected habitat to thrive – increasingly problematic with deforestation and human settlements shrinking and breaking up their habitats.
